During all of my adult years I have been a supporter of the League of Women Voters, initially on the sidelines and then more actively. The goal of helping citizens, including myself, to be informed and active in every voting opportunity has always been a major desire of mine.
I have really loved working with in-person candidate forums, giving talks to school groups and civic clubs about the League's work, and actually registering voters.
My present situation prevents my active participation in the League, but my love for its work remains because an informed citizenry is the first essential of a democracy, and I love our democracy. Amen and So be it.
