This is what we do.
Slideshow of 2023-24 highlights. The content is based on the reports given at the Annual meeting in June, 2024.
This Is Us.
We are affiliated with the National League of Women Voters and the North Carolina League of Women Voters. As members of the Catawba Valley League of Women Voters (LWVCV), we are:
Voters. We think it is important for people to register and vote in primaries and in local, state and national elections. We believe that “democracy is not a spectator sport.” (Marian Wright Edelman)
Registered to vote with one of these parties: Democratic, Libertarian, Republican or as Unaffiliated.
Non-partisan. The League does not support or oppose any political party or candidate.
Open to both men and women members.
Convinced that good effort and good humor are both equally valuable in our League.
Fully committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion among our members in principle and in practice.
Employees and retirees. We have various backgrounds and experiences. Our members aim to make a visible difference by promoting the right and responsibility for voting; educating citizens on the issues and candidates’ positions.
From the cities of Conover, Hickory, Newton, Morganton and Mooresville, the Towns of Catawba and Maiden and the communities of Sherrills Ford, St. Stephens, Terrell and Mooresville. We are set to welcome new members who also place a value on the importance of voting.
