Hickory Community Theatre promoted the use of VOTE4111 in their playbills for POTUS which played to full houses from October 20-November 24, 2023 in the Firemen’s Kitchen.

 

Exodus partnered with the League to offer a program that shared accurate and up-to-date North Carolina information about the voting rights of formerly incarcerated citizens.

The event was funded in part by a grant from LWV US. A second, similar event will be held on August 5, 2023, again at Ridgeview Recreation Center in Hickory.

 

Jeanne Lebens is the President of JML Coaching, LLC, a firm founded in 2009 that specializes in executive and leadership coaching for financial and technical professionals. Jeanne is a special friend of the League for sharing her professional expertise with us as we developed our first three year strategic plan.

Adopt-A-Precinct on both the first day of early voting and on November 8.

The NAACP  included VOTE411 handouts in the 350 voter info bags they distributed.








Signs R Us and Carol Preston for their local and generous support of our efforts to promote the use of VOTE411 this election season. The billboard was installed in September. Look for it heading east on 1-40, between exits 123 and 125.

 

Hickory Farmers Market for giving the League space at the July 16, 2022 market to promote voter awareness of the upcoming Municipal Elections in Hickory on July 26. And to Kim Bost for placing our “Don’t just vent, vote!” sign at the market leading up to the November 8 election.

The Southern Leadership for Voter Engagement (SOLVE) for awarding the League a grant to promote redistricting awareness and citizen involvement in the election process during 2022.

Artist, Beth S. Shuford has given the LWVCV this stained glass work, Sisters of Tenacity. It was created for and exhibited in the Hickory Museum of Art's Suffrage Show in 2020.

It is now on Permanent Loan from the League to the Catawba County Board of Elections for use in their office on the Government Complex in Newton. 


Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) included the League’s Cenntenial panels as part of their Interdisciplinary Read program in March of 2022.  The Read centers on The Book Women of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson. The suffrage movement plays a part in the book set in Kentucky during the depression. The panels were created by a team of graphic arts students at CVCC. The production of the panels was funded by a grant from the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
