Dr. Amanda Sturgill, Associate Professor of Communications at Elon University, will address Mis/Disinformation at the LWVCV Annual Meeting on Saturday, June 15, 2024. This is a LWVCV member-selected topic of interest.

Dr. Sturgill teaches courses in journalism and new media at Elon and is the present research chair of the Communication Technology Division for AEJMC. Her major research interest is how effective online communication technologies are for disadvantaged populations such as the elderly, the rural, the poor and the disabled. Other areas of research include new communication technologies and news, organizational communication, media and religion and service learning.
