Co-presented by Catawba's Center for North Carolina Politics & Public Service and the Task Force for American Democracy, this conference will feature several afternoon panels, focusing on:
national and North Carolina public opinion survey results on election confidence and the use of AI in campaigns and elections;
Democracy’s Firewalls: Security, AI, and the Defense of Elections; and,
Democracy’s Frontlines: Election Officials, Journalists, and the Challenge of AI.
The conference concludes with an evening community event featuring former U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Michael Luttig, former Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, and Judy Woodruff of PBS Newshour, who will explore the challenges and opportunities at the intersection of elections, democracy, public trust, and artificial intelligence.
The conference on Monday, September 28 will have two parts:
12-4 PM at the Rowan County Events Center in Salisbury, NC
7 PM at Keppel Auditorium on the campus of Catawba College
