This Martin Luther King Jr. inspired event will center around local inequities and possible steps to address these disparities. It will feature four committed local panelists:

Dr. Johnny Scott, Coordinator for Equity and Diversity Special Programs at Catawba Valley Community College and past President of Hickory branch NAACP

Diane Hampton, Member of NAACP committee on Equity and Inclusion for Hickory, employed as Director of Corporate Social Responsibilities at Founder Sport Group in Statesville

Pastor Gavin Gabriel, works with education sector of Profound Gentlemen, a national nonprofit dedicated to support of male educators of color and involved in NAACP’s Youth and College division

Honey Estrada, Public Health Strategist for Catawba County Public Health Dept

Michael Deckard, Associate Professor of Philosophy at Lenoir-Rhyne University will serve as moderator.
