January 29* 6:00-7:30 PM
Forum for Republican Candidates for Catawba County Board of Commissioners
Catawba County Library, Newton
Important to note:
The candidates
There are 7 Republican candidates in this race for three seats.
The three winners of the primary election will be on the ballot for the general election, November 3.
There is no primary for Democratic Candidates. Those three candidates go directly to the ballot for the November general election.
All candidates on the March ballot for this position have been sent invitations to the forum.
Asking questions
The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions. With so many candidates, the number of potential questions may be capped.
There will be an opportunity for the public to suggest questions on this site, January 12-26. Please check back for details.
Beyond being in Newton
The library in Newton is centrally located but the seating will be limited.
The forum on the 29th will be live streamed on this site’s homepage—lwvcv.org
The plan is on the next day, January 30, to post a video of the event on this site. It will have time markers for viewing the candidates’ responses to each of the questions.
Click on the map for directions. Easy entry to the meeting room from the parking lot at the back of the building.
*Snow date is Saturday, January 31 from 10:30-12PM at the same location—the library in Newton. Check the website and the League’s Facebook page if the weather is questionable.
