Forum for Republican Candidates for Catawba County Board of Commissioners

Important to note:

The candidates

  • There are 7 Republican candidates in this race for three seats.

  • The three winners of the primary election will be on the ballot for the general election, November 3.

  • There are three open seats on the Board of Commissioners. The three Democratic Candidates will go directly to the ballot for the November 3 general election.

  • All Republican candidates on the March ballot for this position have been sent invitations to the forum.

Asking questions

  • At the Forum, those present will have the opportunity to write and submit their questions that evening.

  • When writing questions keep the questions short. One question, one topic.

  • All questions will be checked for appropriateness before giving to the moderator.

  • With so many candidates, the number of potential questions may be capped that evening.

Beyond being in Newton

  • The library in Newton is centrally located but the seating will be limited.

  • The forum on the 29th will be live streamed on this site’s homepage—lwvcv.org

  • The plan is to post a video of the event on this site within the next day or two. It will have time markers for viewing specific questions and the candidates’ responses.
