  • The offices up for election in 2026 in North Carolina include:

    • 1 NC US Senate seat

    • all 14 NC members of the US House of Representatives

    • all 120 seats in the NC state House

    • all 50 seats in the NC state Senate

    • 1 seat on the NC Supreme Court

    • 3 seats on the NC Court of Appeals

  • From the North Carolina Absentee Portal: There are several options within the portal. Not all options are available to every voter. Descriptions of the different options, eligibility and ability to request an absentee ballot are here.

    In order to be counted, absentee-by-mail ballots must be returned to your County’s Board of Elections by 7:30 PM on election day. Mail them early or drop them off. at the office.

    The cost of postage for mailing an absentee ballot is $1.90.

  • Remember, Election Day, March 3, voting sites are not always the same as One stop (early) voting . Yours may be accessed here.

What’s On Your Ballot, Catawba Valley?

Beginning in mid-February, you can go to VOTE411 and enter your address to Find What’s On Your Ballot. There are 2 parts:

  1. Your own ballot. See a preview of your exact ballot.

  2. Candidates’ responses to questions. Candidates input their answers.

Candidate information is made available through League volunteers at the national, state and local levels.

Important Facts

  • In a primary, you vote by party. You will receive the ballot for the party that is on your registration.

  • If you are registered as “Unaffiliated,” you may choose which ballot you want. You may only choose one! This does not affect your Unaffiliated status.

  • You may change your party registration before the primary by February 6.
