The National Popular Vote (NPV), a bipartisan effort supported by the League of Women Voters, Common Cause, and other organizations, is committed to ensuring that the presidential candidate who receives the largest number of popular votes across the country will become president. 

The NPV preserves the Electoral College, state control of elections, and the power of the states to control how the president is elected. The NPV ensures that every vote counts equally and that every state will receive attention from the candidates.
