When Women Gather Uniting for a Positive Change (Free - registration required)

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment which granted many women in the US the right to vote. However, 1920 was not the end of the fight for suffrage for many, including women of color and Native American women. In fact, women of color were marginalized in the women’s suffrage movement that led to the ratification of the 19th Amendment.

Panelists will discuss the history of racism within women’s movements and the importance of acknowledging and reconciling history to build supportive relationships in the future. This 100-year anniversary is an opportunity for greater accountability as well as a chance to create a stronger, more inclusive voice for all women.

The objectives of the conference include:

  1. Creating a dialogue between the past and present to inform our future.

  2. Envisioning a path toward positive change.

  3. Cultivating collaborative relationships for working toward positive change.
